Application

  • Ideal for expressing proteins that are toxic to E. coli.
  • BL21(DE3)pLysS cells carry the lambda DE3 lysogen. In addition, BL21(DE3)pLysS cells contain the pLysS plasmid, which constitutively expresses T7 lysozyme. T7 lysozyme reduces the basal expression of target genes by inhibiting T7 RNA polymerase. This provides tight control of T7 RNA polymerase, which is necessary when the recombinant protein to be expressed is toxic.

Recommended torage condition
This product should be stored at -80°C. Thaw on ice only before use. Do not re-freeze.

Recommended reaction conditions

  • Mix DNA with competent cells
  • Let stand on bench for 5 minutes
  • Direct plate
