Senior Sales Manager

Job Description

The Senior Sales Manager will represent and sell MCLAB's complete line of Life Science products and services. These include diverse and extensive line of reagents, consumables, as well as DNA synthesis, sequencing, and antibody sequencing etc. The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for creating sales revenue from new and existing customers and maximizing revenue generation, managing and growing new business relationships with biotech and pharma industry accounts, prospecting for new customers, qualifying leads, and training customers after the sales. This position covers San Francisco Bay Area primarily.
The candidate should show the skills and experiences in accurately forecasting business and market needs, formulating and implementing sales strategy, and achieving sales targets, while ensuring high customer satisfaction. The candidate will be responsible for sales methodology and managing the account throughout the sales process including account penetration, prospect qualification, sales process planning, negotiation, and closing. Additional responsibilities include understanding market requirements, product capabilities and future industry developments and trends; working with marketing, sales support, and contract administration with lead generation, responding to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), writing proposals and quotations, contract negotiations, updating sales force automation and all other aspects of the sales process.

Responsibilities:

Prospecting, qualifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities within a defined territory using a formal sales methodology
Managing key accounts with key influencers based in the region or other geographies if necessary
Forecasting and tracking of sales opportunities
Building and executing market development plan for certain region/product
Effective resourcing, training and leading an account team to develop and close sales opportunities
Selling at all levels with the technical, manufacturing and commercial stakeholders
Competing for all existing and developing new sales opportunities within the territory to meet or exceed targets.
Understanding industry trends, product capabilities and customer requirements
Communicating value proposition based on customer requirements
Establishing executive level, long term customer relationship for future cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
Gathering, analyzing and delivering information from the field to allow marketing/R&D groups to develop strategies and new products
Providing accurate forecast and lost order reporting as well as competitive information on a regular basis.
Coordinating all issues with key clients between sales, tech support, customer services, marketing and finance.

Qualifications

3-5 year previous experience in Senior Sales position and/or Startegic Account Management, preferably with domain knowledge from Biotech/BioPharma Industry
Ph. D. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Genetics or equivalent
Well organized individual with ability to establish short and long-term business objectives and have a demonstrable record of measuring performance toward those objectives
Self-motivated individual, capable of working independently and handling multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, professional appearance and determination to succeed. Able to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Track of record in successfully managing and growing individual/business accounts
